About Piano School House
I have been a professional piano teacher for many years and gained a Music Degree with Piano and French Horn as my performance studies. As well as Classical music, I play and teach improvisatory techniques for a modern worship band setting, which is transferable to other contexts. I enjoy working in partnership with students so that they can enjoy playing music they love, alongside traditional techniques, such as Jazz and Popular music from all eras - anything that brings enjoyment, so that the student can have fun whilst improving and gaining greater proficiency. I use optional Grade Exams as a goal to motivate practice and direction but I'm also looking long-term to engender life-long, independent instrumentalists who are true pianists, not just exam passers! I also only enter those who practice consistently and will achieve either a Distinction or Merit. I teach Music Theory to Grade 5 and beyond as well. My goal is to encourage each individual to reach their greatest potential: the better they become, the greater the satisfaction!
